Dr.B.P.Rajan., Bsc, BDS.,MDS.,
            Prof.  Dr. B.P. Rajan completed his B.Sc from Presidency College followed by BDS in Madras Medical College and           MDS from Nair Hospital Dental College, University of Bombay, India in the year 1962.  He was subsequently honoured with a Honorary FDSRCPS (Glasg)., in 1995 from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow, U.K. and D.Sc (Honoris Causa) by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. 
            He has been a former President of the Dental Council of  India, New Delhi, President, Indian Dental Association which is the national body of Dentists in India, President of the Tamil Nadu Dental Council. 
            He was instrumental in creating Tamil Nadu Government Dental College as a separate College and then served as the first Principal of the College for almost 11 years and then as President, International College of Dentists (Indian Section).
            He was a member of the Syndicate of the Composite Madras University from 1984-1987.  He became the second Vice-Chancellor of the MGR Medical University on July 23rd , 1992 and tenure, he built the MGR Medical University in its current premises.  He was also one of the pioneers of Private Dental Education having contributed to the commencement of several colleges in Tamil Nadu such as Raja Muthiah Dental College in Annamalai University and Ragas Dental College, Chennai. 
            Between July 2001 to July 2003 he was elevated as  a Special Representative of the Government of Tamil  Nadu in New Delhi with the rank of Cabinet Minister of the State Government of Tamil Nadu State Council. 
He was born on 10.10.1934.  He joined BDS course in the year 1953 at Dental Wing of Madras Medical College.  He completed his BDS in the year 1957 April and joined as Demonstrator in 1958 at Stanley Medical College & Hospital, in Department of Dental Surgery as Lecturer incharge.  He joined the MDS course in Oral & Maxillofaical Surgery at Nair Hospital, Bombay under Eminent Plastic Surgeon & Oral Surgeon.  Dr. M.S.N. Ginwalla a pioneer in Oral Surgery.  He returned.  Dr.C.K. Dhanasekaran returned to Dental Wing and joined as Lecturer in Department of Oral Surgery.  He was awarded the prestigious WHO Fellow ship and went for training at Eastgrinstead  Hospital, United Kingdom where he worked with eminent Oral Surgeons of that time.  Returned to Dental Department and served as Associated Professor and later as  Professor before he left for Libya in 1979 on Government of India Deputation.
